Job Details

 

Data Centre Engineer (SC Cleared) (Contract)

Location: Remote/London/Wiltshire  Country: UK Rate: £600 per day (Inside IR35)
 

Valid SC Clearance required

Key Responsibilities

  • Working with the team to manage, maintain and support Data Centre Infrastructure
  • Contribute to the strategy to standardise Data Centre infrastructure across the main server room locations and remote hubs
  • Plan and implement a monitoring solution across the Data Centre estate
  • Contribution to BAU activity to rack, install and decommission devices
  • Day-to-day running of the environment, troubleshooting issues & escalating as necessary and performing environment health checks
  • Maintain data centre documentation including asset inventories

Qualifications and skills

  • Hardware knowledge from a variety of manufactures that support DC infrastructure including UPSs, PDUs, racks, KVM consoles, CRACs, CRAHs, generators & fire suppression
  • Working with monitoring software eg powerchute, StruxureWare, SNMP
  • Knowledge of Network patching and Server/SAN patching
  • Experience using Asset/Inventory Management to track equipment
  • Technical documentation authoring skills

Experience

  • Educated to a degree level in relevant area or 3+ years experience working within an Enterprise Data Centre and/or certification, working with:
    • Power
    • Cooling
    • Rack equipment
    • Monitoring systems
  • Experience with supplier engagement
